Another superb collection from another serious collector from Lumut area. Also a close friend of BDC, he sent this pics below of what he claimed to be his "most sacred formula 1 collection". He told BDC that he just got it courtesy from a friend of him who bought it from UK. But what BDC got to say? Its a great one indeed bro.

Ferraris for The Sultan of Brunei

I came across this Ferrari models in ebay few days ago. At a glance, it just look like another ordinary Ferrari models to me. But then look closer, the box are label with either Ferrari F50 or Ferrari FX, then followed by "Sultan of Brunei". Both models are made to the 1/43 scale size and both are under the BBR Brand. Price tag? Each one of this Ferrari model cost at USD$290 or maybe around BND$430 plus delivery charges to Brunei.

Extra info: I have been waiting for so long to owned this particular model with complete "Camel" decal on it just like the actual William Renault F1 in 1991.

The Williams Renault FW14 in which Nigel Mansell won the 1991 British Grand Prix. His great rival Ayrton Senna ran out of fuel on the penultimate lap. Mansell took the chequered flag and sportily collected Senna and gave him a lift to the pits. The crowd was absolutely elated.

Minichamps captured the atmosphere with this superb 1:18 scale model, which will be one of the all time classic collectors models in years to come.

The model is supplied in the Minichamps Senna series collectors box.

This model has detachable panels and engine detail and...

A KBien that started his collection and became a model collector since 1992. He sent BDC this great pictures and shared to us all the collection he got at his crib. Its a mixture of all those 1:43, 1:24 to 1:18 scale model. From Hotwheels, Bburago, Maisto and many more. Till now, he collected "just" around 500 cars already. (Well thats how he told BDC.) But anyway great collection you got there Sabdino. Keep it up with the good work.

What?! "Just" around 500 cars?!...and you thought that was a small collection?

Among the 500 different scale models that he got, 300 of it consist of the 1:18 scale model. Wow!!!

I received this this pics from one of our frequent visitors at Brunei Diecast Collectors (B.D.C). He told BDC, this are only few of his collection left that still in one piece and which he could save from the termite attack at his crib. Well, very impressive collection you have there indeed. BDC wonder, what else do you have without those bugs attack? Anyway, with a mixture of classic and new collection of Ferrari he have, lets just hope he will add up the number with other different models soon.

After the 1992 McLaren Honda MP4/7 of Aryton Senna that I got for my collection, now I am thinking of extending the current Aryton Senna memorabilia by setting my radar to the 1991 Nigel Mansell Williams Renault. The scene was immortalized by world wide television coverage and track photographers who captured the unique gesture as Nigel Mansell interrupted his victory lap to give friend and rival Ayrton Senna a ride back to the pits after his McLaren ran out of fuel on the final lap.

As usual, I will be looking for the perfect model and that include the "Camel" livery should be available on the model to really replicate the actual Nigel Mansell Williams Renault on the race day years ago. I should expect the pricetag could be around BND$300. But then, we will never know the actual price until we get our hand on one of this rare edition.

With a reasonable price, recently I ordered the 1:18 "2007 Lewis Hamilton McLaren Mercedes MP4/22 Model" to commemorate his first F1 Victory and its Limited Edition. It also comes with Lewis Hamilton figurine on it. I will show it to you all in a few weeks time when I receive it. The model could takes maybe around 2 - 3 weeks to arrived here in Brunei. But then I know it worth waiting.

After my previous post about the 1/43 scale Reventon, I was unsettled and keen to seek the 1/18 version of the super car. As usual, I tried my luck from the most popular buying and selling site in the world, ebay. Well as I thought, you can find nearly anything there including what I'm looking for, the 1/18 scale Lamborghini Reventon. There are few sellers in ebay selling it. From I see, there are two version of the 1/18 Reventon.

Our first choice: The cheaper good quality version Reventon, ranging from US$30 to US$50 made from Bburago...

...or another choice, which I personally prefer, the higher quality finished version, from MR collection, with pricetag starting from US$500 and comes with special packaging box as you can see below.

I did try my my luck and make an offer of US$150 to the sellers, but then...the seller did replied to my offer and...yea right...what do you expect :P like I am gonna be that lucky.

So I guess I am gonna to think about it again after Hari Raya.

I was shown this latest and very rare 1/43 Lamborghini Reventon yesterday from a friend. Well he's selling it for BND$399 actually. Wow! For me, its not worth the size. It is rare definetly and comes with a certificate like card saying that it is handmade and only 100 pieces avaiable worldwide. The model was kept in an exclusive made box as shown below. But then, if its on the 1/18 scale, I might think about adding it to my latest model collection.

Realistis, detailed and well crafted. Well painted and very collectable.

In 2004, Sports Car International named this car number three on the list of Top Sports Cars of the 1970s, and it was listed as number ten on their list of Top Sports Cars of the 1980s.

The six-Weber carburetor 4,754 cc engine produced 400 bhp at 7,000 rpm. Production of the Countach series ceased in 1990.

Pirelli developed a special P7 series rear tyre for the Countach in 335-50-15 size to match the new OZ aluminum 13x15 wheels that had replaced the Campagnolo magnesium wheels used previously on the LP400S.

The Countach LP500S, or 5000S as it became known as in the US, was introduced at the 1982 Geneva Motor Show. About 321 cars were built between 1982 and 1985.

Extra info: Well its kind of a bargain I manage to bought it with such low price. With full banned Marlboro livery, I would expect it could cost more than $2oo-$300 plus...

The Ferrari F399 was the car with which the Ferrari team competed in the 1999 Formula One season.

The F399 was almost identical to the previous season's F300 model, with small detailed changes.

Although the team's quest to win their first drivers' title since 1979 was frustrated by Schumacher's injury and the speed of the McLaren MP4/14, they did manage to clinch Ferrari's first constructors' crown since 1983.

This model comes with opening and closing fuel cap. Nowadays they rarely made such detailed attributes anymore.

It was initially driven by Micheal Schumacher and Eddie Irvine, Mika Salo then substituting for the German when he broke his leg at Silverstone.

Extra info: Very rare to find this model nowadays.

Schumacher made his Formula One debut with the Jordan-Ford team at the 1991 Belgian GP as a replacement for the imprisoned Bertrand Gacho. Schumacher, still a contracted Mercedes driver, was signed by Eddie Jordan after Mercedes paid Jordan $150,000 for his debut.

The week before the race, Schumacher impressed Jordan designer Gary Anderson and team manager Trevor Foster during a test drive at Silverstone. His manager Wili Weber assured Jordan that though Schumacher had only seen the challenging Spa track as a spectator, he knew it well.

He impressed the paddock by qualifying seventh in this race, his first race in a Formula One. This matched the team's season-best grid position, and out-qualified 11-year veteran de Cesaris.

Motorsport journalist Joe Saward reported that after qualifying "clumps of German journalists were talking about 'the best talent since Stefan Bellof. Schumacher retired on the first lap of the race with clutch problems.

During the race weekend, team-mate Andrea de Cesaris was meant to show Schumacher the circuit but was held up with contract negotiations. Schumacher then learned the track on his own, by cycling around the track on a fold-up bike he had brought with him.

The McLaren MP4/7A was McLaren International's Formula One entry for 1992, and follow-up to their successful MP4/6 from the previous season.

This was the first McLaren to use a semi-automatic transmission; it was a McLaren-designed electro-hydraulic unit with semi-automatic activation.

TAG Electronic System (a technology partner with McLaren) helped with development. This system allowed the driver to keep his foot on the pedal, without lifting from it, since the throttle cable was replaced with an electronic sensor. It also controlled engine speed automatically during gear changes.

For the first time since 1987, McLaren failed to capture the Constructors' or Drivers' Championship title. It was therefore the first time the team had failed to win the championships with Honda power, as the years 1988 to 1991 had all been successful in this respect.

This model are some of which could be categorized as "Most wanted" by hardcore F1 or rare model collectors. The legendary driver Aryton Senna will always be remembered in the world of high profile F1 racing.

My version of McLaren Honda MP4/7 also comes with full "Marlboro" livery. Most recent model instead of "Marlboro", the engine cover has a "barcode" type logo in place, (which is actually how the car appeared for the British and German Grand Prix), to get around local bans on tobacco advertising on TV.

On this model there is no engine detail (the engine cover is not removable), but there is a driver figure representing Senna, and the finish of the model is generally good.

The wheels and tires look good and there is reasonable brake detail (although the callipers are fixed to the discs and do not rotate with the wheels).

This model is one of many F1 cars made by Minichamps. It is part of the Ayrton Senna collection, which to date (Feb 2004) includes most of his Formula 1 cars, including several Lotus, McLaren cars, and his unfortunate Williams-Renault FW16 the car he died in).

Extra info: Well I'm not an absolute Alonso's fan though. But I can consider myself as a well updated F1 fan. I bought this model just to remind me the time when the F1 Ferraris (...yea I'm a Ferraris...) had a bad 2006 season and they lost it all to the Renault, Alonso and Co... Hahhh...

The team started 2006 well, Alonso won the opening Bahrain GP as well as the Australian GP and finished second in Malaysia behind teammate Fisichella to claim Renault's first one-two finish since 1982.

Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella were retained for 2006, although test driver Frank Montagny was replaced by Heikki Kovalainen.

The team's 2006 contender, the R26 - featuring a seven speed gearbox made of titanium, was unveiled at a launch event on January 31.

As you can see above, its a "Limited Edition" too.
Only 4,322 pieces are being made and sold worldwide and I owed one of it.

Info: Well I never thought that I will owned this model some day. The first time I saw it few years back when it was for sell on ebay and it cost around USD$300 to USD$400 at that time. But now, I really owned this 1:18 special edition regarded as "most wanted" among the F1 collectors worlwide.

The seven star represent seven times Micheal Schumacher had won it for Ferrari.

Its limited edition: 7830 of 10000 pieces ever made

This special edition F1 Ferrari are coloured with what most refer to as "red chrome" or "candy red". The colour tone are much different than the other F1 Ferraris that I owned where most comes with "Ferrari Red".

F1 Ferraris with Marlboro livery are just not an easy thing to have nowadays.

It also comes with chrome wheels and

display board covered with black leather.

Ferrari has built 30, originally 29 of these cars, and they have all been sold to preselected past Ferrari customers, except for one that Ferrari S.p.A. kept, including Ferrari's F1 World Champion driver, Micheal Schumacher, the 30th.

Schumacher's FXX differs from others in that it is the only black FXX without a stripe and comes with red trim on the wheels, matte exhaust tips (regular FXX's have chrome tips) these few customers will not only own a Ferrari FXX, but also participate in further testing and brand development.
Hotwheel has produced a rare limited edition 1/18 Elite replica of Michael Schumacher's Ferrari FXX with the Micheal Schumacher figure in it driving the car. It was so rare that only 333 of it are made worlwide.

Sources said that this particular model are actually not for sell and nearly impossible to find any information about it through the internet. It was made as a souvenier for VIPs (hardcore Ferrari's owner) invited during the launching of the actual Micheal Schumacher FXX.

Yupz...260 of up to 333 in the world made and as far as I know there are only 2 of this limited edition model avaiable in Brunei. Hehehe...I'm the lucky one to have one of it.

Essentially an evolution of the Enzo, the FXX shares some components with its parent car, but significant portions are exclusive to the FXX.
Schumacher's FXX differs from others in that it is the only black FXX without a stripe and comes with red trim on the wheels...
The car uses some technology developed from the Enzo and combines it with some all-new developments from Ferrari and some of the suppliers.
However, the car is only a part of the overall program: customers pay £1.3 million ($2.5 million USD) but are only allowed to drive the car on special track days approved by Ferrari and after they drive the car they have to brief Ferrari on the car's performance.
...matte exhaust tips (regular FXX's have chrome tips) these few customers will not only own a Ferrari FXX, but also participate in further testing and brand development.
The FXX's engine is based on the Enzo's but has been expanded to 6.3 L (6262 cc) from 6 L (5988 cc)...
...and output has been boosted from 660 PS (651 hp/485.4 kW), as seen in the Enzo, to 812 PS (800.9 hp/597.2 kW) at 8,500 rpm.
The unique feature avaiable for this model is that it have the Micheal Schumacher figure in it driving the car.
This feature is not avaiable in other Micheal Schumacher FXX that being made commercially in the market.

Most Micheal Schumacher FXX are made without the Micheal Schumacher figure in it.

This one-of-a-kind car, the most expensive in Hot Wheels® history, was made to commemorate the production of the 4 billionth Hot Wheels® vehicle.

This $140,000 Hot Wheels car is allegedly the most expensive toy car in the world, created to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Mattel's tiny cars and show why Humanity has way too much free time. Why is it so expensive? As you can see in the glittery images, it is all about the 23-carat bling-bling.

The car has 2,700 blue, black, and white diamonds covering its 18-karat white gold frame. The blue diamonds are used to mimic the Hot Wheels Spectraframe blue paint, while black and white diamonds cover the underbelly and for the engine. For the brake lights, they used rubies.

The Hot Wheels® flame logo found on the underbelly of the car is lined with white and black diamonds.

Every 1:18 "Motorsport" series, having " With Sealed Body Shell " logo on it box, raised a lot of question among the collectors on why AUTOART are making die cast model cars with no engine, no opening of doors and bonnets but still demanding the same selling price.

This is because, many top racing teams, such as Formula One, WRC and Super GT racing cars, would not allow picture to be taken or conducting any research of the car’s interior by model makers due to the team’s unique design of their suspension setup and engine arrangement which are their closely guarded secret among their competitors.

Extra info: Apart from its unique design, I bought this model because of my admiration to the real Porsche car. Previously I owned the Maisto version of this model. Then I bought Autoart version which have more quality and detail on their design for this vehicle. Great work!!!

The Carrera GT is an all weather car which have two removable roof panels that can be stored in the front trunk.This 612 bhp super car has a 5.7 litres V10 engine, with a 6-speed manual gearbox in a production car. Maserati designed and built the car on the chassis of the Enzo Ferrari but the final car is much larger. The MC12 is longer, wider and taller than the Enzo Ferrari, which has faster acceleration and a higher top speed. The top speed of the Maserati MC12 is 330 km/h whereas the top speed of the Enzo Ferrari is 350 km/h.

Although easy and pleasant to drive on the road, the MC12 is also a brilliantly dynamic car, and each of this car cost more than half a million dollar.

It handles very sweetly and fluidly yet the driver can still feel all the power of a genuinely sporty thoroughbred under the surface.

It can exceed 330 km/h at full throttle, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Extra info: Rare to find this model nowadays and wanted by most collectors due to its reputation.

The exciting sports car promising enormous power from an all-aluminium 7993 cc W16 engine mounted longitudinally ahead of the rear axle on a separate aluminium subframe and running four turbochargers producing 987 bhp at 6000 rpm. The top speed is estimated to be 406 km/h.

Special run-flat capability Michelin PAX tyres which have 265 for front and 365 for rear, and thats the largest tyre sizes ever fitted to a production car. Wow...!!! Talk about stability.

Testing the fastest car in the world by "Top Gear" driver "James May" - The Bugatti Veyron- it's top speed is 408Km/h .

When getting close to the top speed during the test he said that "the tyres will only last for about fifteen minutes, but it's OK, because the fuel(from FULL) runs out in twelve minutes."

A scale model is a representation or copy of an object that is larger or smaller than the actual size of the object . Well in our case the scale car model is much smaller than the real thing.

For me, most of my collection consists of the 1:18 scale model. Scale is an indication of relative sizes. A 1:64 scale diecast car is one 64th the size of the real automobile. In other word, the real automobile is 64 times larger. Likewise, a 1:18 scale diecast car means, the real one is 18 times larger than what you are seeing on your table top right now.

In general, larger cars will be having more detailed, look more accurate and have more features...and ow...don't forget, more expensive too.

Fully built scale model cars made of die cast metal are very popular among collectors. These models are manufactured in various scales and the most popular types that are avaiable in our country such as the 1:18, 1:24, 1:43 and even 1:64 scale models.

Larger-scale models today are generally made with attention to details which replicate a real model, such as a working steering, doors, trunk, and engine hood that can be open. The larger version models also comes with detailed engine complete with things such as an exhaust system and/or other items that contained in a typical car engine. But then, common sense, the more detail the model is to the real thing, the more pricey it can get.

In smaller scales some of the details are often eliminated. So, e.g. in 1:32, 1:48, 1:43 or 1:64 scale cars, the steering and wheels generally do not work. Likewise, only the front doors and hood might be functional, with non-opening rear doors and trunk. (There are exceptions to this, of course.)
